Salary: $50,000 per year

DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Staff Accountant provides accounting and clerical support to the Miami City Ballet finance department. This includes bank reconciliations, posting daily sales into the accounting system and completing any other tasks necessary for well-functioning of company’s accounting process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monthly reconciliation of bank statements.
  • Daily postings of Box Office batches into the accounting system.
  • Daily postings of the Development batches into the accounting system.
  • Prepares weekly Box Office Sales analysis for Financed and Marketing.
  • Monthly/Weekly school postings.
  • Compile data and prepare a variety of reports.
  • Assist with other accounting projects in the office.
  • Credit Card Reconciliation & CC Statement Distribution to all Cardholders.
  • Reconciliation of Deferred accounts related to School and Box office.
  • Daily Cash Flow, Outstanding checks reconciliation.
  • Flash Report updates.
  • Cover for teammates as needed (Aging, AP Entries).
  • Assist with Year End close and Financial Statement requests.
  • Ad Hoc request related to Audit, Settlements, and departmental needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset.
  • Requires 2 years’ experience.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the Ballet’s mission.
